- Attempting to dig a Wall of a higher Hardness will perform a "Blood Dig", dealing 0.5
hearts of damage to the player and digging up a 3x3 area centered on the dug tile.
- Blood Digs will dig Walls of any Hardness.

- Blood Digs are capable of digging all wall types, including Shop Walls and Stages.
- Monk starts with this shovel.
Notable Interactions[]
- Miner's Cap - The player will perform Blood Digs when walking near a Wall of Hardness 2 or higher, forcing the player to take damage.
- Scroll of Gigantism - While gigantic, the player can dig all wall types without taking damage.
- Blood Drum - The beat after using blood drum when digging a hard wall will still count as a "Blood Dig", so using it for digging is meaningless.
